I'm Bob. Lifter, husband, and the guy behind ForgeGymBro.
I've been lifting for over 40 years. Not as a career. Not for Instagram followers. Because it's how I stay sane, stay strong, and stay honest with myself about what my body can do. The gym has been the one constant through every job change, every move, every season of life.
A while back, I looked in the mirror and didn't like what I saw. 272 pounds. I'd been lifting consistently, but the nutrition had gotten lazy. Too many easy meals, not enough accountability. So I did what I always do — I tracked everything. Every macro, every workout, every variable.
45 pounds came off. Not from some magic supplement or crash diet — from consistency, progressive overload, walking more, and eating the right amount of the right things. That journey is what ForgeGymBro documents.
"I wanted to build the resource I wish I had when I started — real workouts, real results, from a real person. Not a 22-year-old fitness influencer. Just a guy who has been doing this for four decades."
I live in Bellevue, Washington — right across Lake Washington from Seattle. Mountains, water, forests, and some of the best gyms on the West Coast. My wife Elizabeth and I love this city. We walk everywhere (17 miles in the snow once — that's a story on the blog).
The Pacific Northwest teaches you to love indoor training. It rains. A lot. But when the sun breaks through, there's nowhere better. And the food scene keeps me honest with my macros — plenty of good protein options, good produce, and enough coffee to fuel a small nation.
ForgeGymBro is my fitness journal, made public. It's the workouts I actually do, the gear I actually wear, the supplements I actually take, and the life I actually live. No ghost-written content. No faceless editorial team. Just me, documenting the journey.
ForgeGymBro is becoming the first name men think of when they want a real fitness journey to follow — not a faceless editorial site, not sponsored content factory. The trusted friend who lifts, tracks his macros, travels and trains, and shares the unfiltered reality of transformation.
A place where a guy can watch someone go from 272 to goal weight, see the workout videos, read the real story, and understand what actually works over decades.
